Spencer Savings Bank, a community bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., has announced its participation in the 2012 Relay for Life of Bloomfield, N.J. to support the American Cancer Society.  Spencer Savings Bank’s fundraising efforts have launched with a branch bake sale, during which the bank will be selling jumbo-sized cookies in its Nutley and Lyndhurst branches. Everyone is invited to visit either of the branches from August 8 to September 29 to purchase a jumbo cookie for three dollars each. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life of Bloomfield and will directly benefit the American Cancer Society.

Spencer Savings Bank’s team, Tony’s Angels, has set a fundraising goal of $2,500. The culminating, overnight Relay for Life event will take place at Demarest Elementary School in Bloomfield, N.J., starting at 5:00 p.m. on October 5, 2012, and lasting throughout the night until 8:00 a.m. on October 6, 2012.
