After the Conventions: Who Will Win the 2012 Presidential Election, Obama or Romney?
Now that the Democratic and Republican delegates have officially chosen their nominees, Patch wants to know: Who are you betting on?
It's official: With President Barack Obama's acceptance speech in Charlotte Thursday night, both the Republicans and Democrats have formally chosen their nominees for the 2012 presidential election. Let the real race begin.
A lot can change between now and Nov. 6: Gaffes, scandals or even major international news events could shift the dynamics of the campaign.
The latest Gallup Polls show registered voters preferring Obama to Mitt Romney by just one percentage point, 47 percent to 46 percent. A USA Today/Gallup poll taken just before the party conventions found American voters think Obama is more likeable, but trust Romney more to handle the economy.
Pundits have been busy for months handicapping the major-party candidates on various factors: incumbent advantage, fundraising clout, even religion.
Patch wants to know: Regardless of who you support for President, who do you think will actually claim victory in November?

Considering that this is mini poll is in New Jersey, of course Obama is going to show a lead. But I ask anyone reading this article, are you living paycheck to paycheck? If so, then you have an obligation to yourself, your family and your country to vote in Romney. Romney + Jobs = Perfect Together.

I prefer a nation where people quietly help one another with more than just money. Creating government programs to solve every problem fosters both depensency and alienation, not hope and change. Romney's quiet compassion is reflective of our nation's true strength.

Well blow me down -- a Montclair poll and Romney is in the lead!!! I have true hope for real change now! This is a good omen. How anyone can buy the load of bull the democrats are pushing is beyond me. I shudder to imagine this election won't end with Romney victorious. What work is Obama going to finish, completely bankrupting the nation?? All emotion, no substance, distorted facts - it really is pathetic. And this ginned up 'war on women's rights' -- no one is talking about reversing Roe v Wade! So what you have to pay a co-pay for birth control -- how is that taking away a woman's rights? You can buy birth control or get an abortion for nominal fees and no one is saying deny women that right. The only legislation I've heard is waiting 24 hours before getting an abortion and getting one ultra-sound. You aren't removing a bunion, you're terminating a life. I don't see how women's rights are at all in play. If you ask me, Obama is the one who is hurting women -- unemployment among women is at 14%!! Now that is detrimental to the well-being of women in this country.

Well said. Do you mind if I use your comment on other comment boards. I will quote you. LOL. But you are absolutely right about this silly "war on women's rights" platform. What intelligent, responsible, hard working woman, would really vote Obama back in? I mean really, I agree I think that Obama has his charm, is attractive but other then that I do not want any of his Hope and Change.

It is surprising, but perhaps it is an anomalie due to the abundance of patch readers being in one demographic group. Most Montclairians seem to be ready to support, defend and vote for a Democrat irrespective of their ideas, past successes and failures, their qualifications or positions on any issue. It seems like they all are in some cult and can't really consider anything else.
