Belleville Police Ask Public to Help I.D. Bank Robber

Following two bank robberies, Belleville police seek to catch the suspect.

Belleville police believe that the same man robbed two township banks and are asking for the public's help in finding him.

According to a press release, the man entered the Valley National bank at 11:41 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23. Wearing a red Yankees baseball cap and a blue zip up hoodie, he reportedly handed the teller a note reading "Give me money have gun." The man, described as a 5'8" man in his mid 20s, reportedly left with $3,200.

Police believe he also robbed the Valley National bank in November of 2012 and the Sovereign Bank in Newark the previous month.

If you have information on the man, please call Detective Mark Johns at 973-450-3356.
