Got Power? Still Don't? Let us Know

Nutley, Belleville slowly rising after wallop from Sandy

Street by street, electricity was gradually being restored to Belleville and Nutley Thursday.

What follows is a partial list of streets where power is back, and where it has not, throughout the two townships. The information was submitted to Patch via our Facebook page.

Has power come back on yet where you are? Tell us in the comments following the article (say whether you’re in Nutley or Belleville and try to be as specific as you can; remember that only a portion of your street may have been restored). If you’re able to, please let us know if you’re still without power too.

As of 12:20 pm Nov. 1

WITH POWER
At least part of Harrison Street in Belleville; William near Washington in Belleville (came back on yesterday); Beech between Greylock and Overlook in Belleville (came on last night); Nolton Street south of the stadium in Belleville; part of Joralemon and Carmer Avenue in Belleville.

WITHOUT POWER
Smallwood in Belleville; Centre near Washington Avenue in Nutley; the Cambridge Heights complex in Nutley; Fairvew Place in Belleville; Pleasant Avenue in Belleville; Joralemon near the cemetery in Belleville.

Majority of Cambridge Heights is back with power but homes of seniors, elderly, and families with kids are without power. hopefully PSEG did not overlook these streets when returning power to the community as I saw them packing and leaving the community this morning but they are still there right outside the community on Washington because of that broken pole and transformer that was on fire for a couple days. If you need to get into the heat: Belleville has a shelter now (Thursday afternoon) at the Knights of Columbus, Bridge Street and Belleville Ave. In Nutley, if you need help, Commissioner Steve Rogers said to call Public Affairs at 973-284-4940.

I believe 100% of cambridge heights in nutley is now fully powered. This was confirmed by a representative from PSEG who was on site managing their crew and operations.

Belleville: Ralph Street, North of Little is still out because a tree is down by the Elementary School. I live on the block and was told its out, I've been staying at the Shore taking care of my mother whose waterfront home became an island with water on ALL sides! I can't understand why the power is not on with the school there...doesn't that get a priority or only when school is back in session? Also, Raymond Street which only has a few houses is back on. WTF????

It will be 1 week Monday the 5th without power on Agnes street. I called pse& g everyday to report that we have no lights but other streets close enough to our street is powered. It does not make any sense to me why It's taking so long when we do not have down wire lines or trees. Pse&g website states that no one is working on the problem today, but they will begin tomorrow and the day after. I am frustrated. Newark is mostly all powered, and their mayor surely advocated for his citizens. Not once did I see the mayor of Belleville advocate anything or his deputy! These folks do not even have a twitter page to let us know at least that they care and are working towards something!

We are still without power on adelaide St from Greylock Pkwy to Division, as well as some of the streets off of Adelaide. Calls to PSEG tell me power has been restored to my area or direct me to their website. Today is the first time I have access to a computer as I have returned to work. Their web site tells me little other than they hope to restore power by midnight Friday, November 9. Other web sites (found via NJ state site) have charts giving estimatese but not for Belleville.Do people at PSEG think Belleville has been restored? Neighbors and I have been calling repeatedly giving locations of downed wires. We are told it's been reported, but nothing is being done. Something is wrong here!
