"Jersey Shore" Cast Member Arrested This Afternoon In Seaside Heights
Deena Cortese charged with disorderly conduct.
A cast member of the "Jersey Shore" show was arrested this afternoon in Seaside Heights after a police officer saw her appearing intoxicated and disrupting the flow of traffic, Det. Steven Korman said.
Deena Cortese, 25, New Egypt, was charged with disorderly conduct after the 3:48 p.m. incident, he said.
Cortese and some other Jersey Shore cast members were in Spicy's Mexican Cantina at 500 Boardwalk near the intersection of Sumner Avenue and Ocean Terrace before the incident occurred, he said.
Cortese went outside and started dancing in the middle of the street, disrupting the flow of traffic, he said.
"Patrolman Chris Linnell placed her under arrest," Korman said. "Traffic was building up and the officer had to act, obviously."

11 out of 12 stories posted on the home page at 4:37 p.m. on Monday, June 11 are hyperlocal to Maplewood and South Orange. Sometimes we run statewide stuff on the weekends, but your point is well taken!
A story on FNL is in the works. We are waiting for a response from the district. All the school stories you mentioned are in the works; reporting on them will happen AFTER the BOE meeting.
No local actors are up for Tony's but we ran a story Maplewood's own Lisa Hershey whose group won a special Tony: http://patch.com/A-tMtD

I know what you mean Morrisa, I come here to read about NUTLEY happenings at the NUTLEY BELLEVILLE Patch and all I find is the space shuttle and Lauren Hill. At first I was happy to learn Patch would be coming to my town. Looks like it doesn't matter.

Not enough local news in our hyper local news. As of late, a lot fewer local articles and more sharing of general articles between the local patches to round out the missing coverage .

Morrisa, My name is Marcia Worth, editor of South Orange Patch, writer of many of the stories posted here today. It sounds like school stories interest you, so please introduce yourself at the Bd mtg this evening. Teacher retirements are top of tonight's agenda; in fact, there are a number of retirements that will be noted this evening.
If you have firsthand info about the FNL situation, please feel free to contact me ASAP as we have a story waiting to post.
Finally, to my knowledge, there have been 11 stories about or related to the SOMS teacher situation.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks Mary. Good to know those stories are in the works. Are you involved with this patch still? Thought you were on the Union County Patch? I did noticed a lot of local stories as of this morning and appreciate that. I have been missing the local angles for the past couple of weeks and missing you.

Isn't it news when a day goes by without one of the Jersey Shore cast being arrested?
