Nutley: School Open Tomorrow and Other Vital Information

PSEG aware of all outages and addressing as they're able call 973-932-3468 or 973-932-2353 regarding warming centers

The Board of Commissioners would like to thank the residents of Nutley for their patience during Hurricane Sandy and the aftermath. It is estimated that over 75% of town was without electricity immediately after the storm.  Although the majority of town has been restored there are still sections of town without power and heat.  Please know that the Board is very aware of the seriousness of this situation and is working with Public Service on a non-stop basis to rectify the problems in those areas.  Some of the steps we have taken to help comfort our residents are setting up a warming center where residents could go if their homes became too cold, establishing an alert system to keep all residents apprised of the latest town information, and  providing call-in phone numbers for the public to address their concerns.  We want to offer our residents the assurance that whatever can be done is being done.
We also understand that the people in the most need are not receiving this message.  We ask that those with power and getting this message check on their friends and neighbors in the true Spirit of Nutley volunteerism.

  1. Continued Alert : RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED OF THE DANGERS OF LIVE WIRES. Use extreme caution when outside and under no circumstances go near or try to move wires.  Nutley Parks and Public Works personnel are continuing to clear debris so roadways and pedestrian walkways can be cleared.
  2. Power: If you are still without power please be aware that PSE&G is aware of all outages that still remain in town. The servicemen must begin at the substation to first identify the problem then go out to the streets/areas where the outages are occurring. They have advised us that service should be restored to all areas shortly.  If you experience any new power losses please report to the police desk immediately at 973-284-4940.
