The Woman's Club of Belleville announces its major annual fundraiser, a tricky tray happening on March 22, 2012, at The Chandelier in 340 Franklin Avenue.
Aptly titled "March Into Spring" as the event falls within the first few days of the season of growth, the fundraiser is expected to bring hope to the club's numerous beneficiaries.
Among the current community projects of the Woman's Club are: sponsorship of high school young ladies to the Federation’s Girls’ Citizenship Institute held at Douglass College each spring, scholarships for Belleville High School students, and sponsorship of Art and Poetry Contests for the town's public elementary and middle school students.
The club also collects toiletries, school supplies and gifts for the Safe House, Christmas Wish Trees at Bethany Lutheran Church, Operation Candy/Cookie, and Books for Tots and Teens (in conjunction with the Belleville Public Library).
It supports domestic violence programs, services to homeless women, and Gilda’s Club, a center providing non-medical assistance to cancer patients and their families. The Woman's Club also sponsors the Belleville Middle School Stompers Club as well as participants to the Essex County Special Olympics Event, and contributes to several other community and state organizations' efforts.
The 2012 tricky tray fundraiser is open to everyone and promises a night of great fun and prizes, as the club also celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.
Tickets for "March Into Spring" cost $35.00 per person and include a full course dinner. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Those who wish to purchase tickets and contribute to the club's philanthropic works may get in touch with Patty at 201-303-337 (mobile) or 973-751-3226 (home); or Marie Kimble at 973-759-3912 (mobile) or Mkim5623@comcast.net.
