The governor follows in the comedic footsteps of his on-again, off-again buddy Barack Obama.
Gov. Chris Christie appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night to break down his decision to “let the people vote” in a special election for Frank Lautenberg’s senate seat. As The Roots laid down a smooth R&B beat, the governor mostly played the straight man to Fallon. Christie “slow jammed” his talking points about the special election and dodged questions about whether he’d announce a run for president. Christie remained poised, good natured, and at times affected a mock-offended tone, as Fallon cracked fat jokes at the guv’s expense during the 5 minute segment. “Now look, I know that this election is going to cost tax payers some money, but these costs can’t be measured against the value of having an elected member of the …

Notorious Nutley psuedo-celeb music video online now.
Patricia Krentcil, infamously known as Tanning Mom, is the star of what TMZ has termed "Quite Possibly the worst video ever recorded." Krentcil recorded her debut rap single, which opens with the tantalizing salvo "It's tan mom, b----," at a New York recording studio in late April. Now the song is available, in full, for public consumption, along with a promotional music video. The song prominently features a recording technique popularly known as "autotune" first popularized by recording artist Cher in the hit song "Believe" wherein a human voice is digitally processed to keep it on key. The song's lyrics are largely composed of boasts, with Krentcil favorably comparing herself to Octomom and "teen mom." In the video, Krentcil appears …

The curiously hued Nutley resident continues to make headlines.
Sources close to “Tanning Mom” Patricia Krentcil told celebrity gossip site TMZ that the Nutley woman would be featured in a soon-to-be released gay porn film. The sources then qualified the revelation: Krentcil would be working fully clothed and she won’t partake in any sexual activities. The 45-year-old mother will get $1,000 for the cameo role, sources said. Earlier this year, the mother of five recorded her debut rap single at a New York recording studio and posed topless on a Jersey Shore beach. Krentcil's infamy began in April 2012 when school officials noticed burns on her daughter's leg and reported the injuries to authorities. Following an investigation, Krentcil was arrested later that month. The relatively outlandish nature of …

Multiple Grammy winner's sentencing adjourned to May 6. Singer did not pay taxes on three years' worth of earnings.
Sentencing in the federal tax evasion case against singer Lauryn Hill, who rose to fame as part of The Fugees and for her 1998 solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, was adjourned Monday until May 6 after a dispute arose over how much she actually owes. The 37-year-old singer and South Orange resident pleaded guilty in June 2012 to failing to pay taxes on $1.8 million in income earned in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The eight-time Grammy winner earned most of that income from music and film royalties and also owned at least four businesses. Sitting in Newark federal court, Judge Madeline Cox Arleo took Hill to task for failing to pay off the more than $500,000 in federal taxes she owes despite earlier promises to do so before her …
