Can you, Jeff, or anyone else tell me why, in a town of 38,000, only 5-6,000 people voted? In myRead Moremi nd, that is apathy. Are there some suggestions to convince people to vote? It IS so necessary to vote!

While Belleville has a population in the neighborhood of 35,000, the Township has approximatelyRead More19,0 00 registered voters. Using the 4313 votes cast for mayoral candidates on May 13th, this represents a turnout of about 23%, which is probably an all-time record for Belleville. Historically, in most Belleville municipal/school board elections, typically much less than 10% of registered voters participate.

In my opinion it is more than voter apathy. It is information suppression and voter intimidationRead Morean d manipulation coupled with irresponsible media coverage of crucial news worthy events. If people were informed properly it would be much more difficult for political hacks to spin their webs and run away with elections. Belleville has a long history of this and it must be changed to return this town to the Beautiful Villa that is her history. We showed that is possible in this last election and thwarted the guaranteed hostile takeover of the Town Council by the supposed "invincible" combined two party's failure to do so. And this is just the beginning, get on board everybody, THIS IS SOCIAL JUSTICE!

I've just about given up on the Patch. It once was a good "news" source when Paul MiloRead Morest arted it. I was really excited that Belleville citizens finally had an information venue that would cover Belleville and inform our citizens. But it seems those days are gone forever. I do suggest to anyone wishing to know what is going on in Belleville, a town that is starved for dependable and unbiased news, to go to nutleywatch.com They cover the news and supply all important information the people need to be informed.
