Free Fun on Edison Day

Thomas Edison National Historical Park, 211 Main St, West Orange, NJ | Get Directions »
FREE

Join us in celebrating Edison Day on 2 June. Entrance to the park and all activities are free, no reservations are needed and all are welcome. The park opens at 9:00 am, activities start at 10:00 am and will take place rain or shine.

Kids should make sure they visit the Friends booth for the perfect photo opportunity. Get dressed up in period costume and sit in a child-size replica Ford Model-T, just like the real version owned by Thomas Edison that will be on disply in his garage at the Glenmont Estate.

Always a favorite, there'll be bands performing live throughout the day as they record their music onto the historical wax cylinder phonograph.

The Kids Corner at Glenmont will feature some of the Edison family's favorite games and activities for younger visitors. Glenmont will also host an electric car built by high school students. The car, modeled after a classic Lotus 7 design, has a stunning image of Thomas Edison painted onto the hood.

There will also be lots of other activities taking place as well as Ranger talks on a variety of topics and special Junior Ranger activities. For a free, fun day out join us on Edison Day.
