BARNABAS HEALTH WELCOMES JERSEY CITY MEDICAL CENTER

Expands network of services into Hudson County

Barnabas Health President and Chief Executive Officer, Barry H. Ostrowsky, and Jersey City Medical Center President and Chief Executive Officer, Joseph F. Scott, signed the final agreement today, officially making Jersey City Medical Center a Barnabas Health facility. Jersey City Medical Center will be the seventh acute care hospital in the Barnabas Health system and the only one located in Hudson County.

Barnabas Health is transforming to strengthen its position as the preeminent healthcare leader for the future.  The addition of Jersey City Medical Center expands the geographic scope of the system, establishing a stronger healthcare delivery model and enhancing services to better manage the health of the populations of people served throughout New Jersey.

“We are proud to welcome Jersey City Medical Center into the Barnabas Health system,” said Mr. Ostrowsky. “Jersey City Medical Center is an exceptional hospital that not only shares our commitment to providing high quality services, but also firmly believes that our mission and obligation are to reach beyond helping those who are sick, and extend to helping people when they are well,” he said. “Our organizations are naturally aligned, and together, we will continue to grow and enhance services to better meet the needs of the rapidly expanding community in Jersey City,” said Mr. Ostrowsky.
