Belleville Rec Baseball, Softball Registration Underway

Night registration being held two dates next month; volunteer coach applications also beig accepted

The Belleville Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs wishes to remind residents registration for the 2013 Recreation Baseball & Softball program is underway. The program, which runs from April to June, consists of multiple leagues conducted for boys and girls ages 5 to 15.

Player registration applications can be obtained at the Rec House, 407 Joralemon St. Please bring completed applications, along with birth certificates and proof of residency, to the office from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm. Applications are also available for those interested in becoming a volunteer coach. The deadline for player registration is Friday, Feb. 22.

The Rec House will also be open for night registration on the following Wednesday nights: Feb. 13 and 20 from 6 to 8 pm.

Tryouts for Belleville Little League baseball will be held Feb. 23 and 24 at Belleville High School, 100 Passaic Ave. Participants must be previously registered at the Rec House, as applications will not be accepted onsite at the tryouts. Little League baseball is open to boys age 9 to 12 and is managed and operated independently from the Belleville Recreation Department.
