Local Scouts Receive Top Rank

Avery Federico and Vincent Lamparello have worked their way up the scouting ranks since elementary school. Now they have reached the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

Both boys passed their scout review Feb. 4 after successful completion of their service projects, which are a requirement to become an Eagle Scout. Their induction ceremony takes place today and commend their achievement.

Lamparello hosted a a senior citizens prom at Belleville Knights of Columbus in October of last year, while Federico designed and implemented an irrigation for two community gardens -- one in Montclair and one in Irvington -- to grow food for underserved families.
