Belleville PBA Collected Donations for Sandy Victims
Belleville PBA Local 28 collected donations for people living at the Jersey Shore and other areas hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. They accepted donations of diapers, sanitary supplies, clothing, blankets and other suitable items.

Nutley Salutes Veterans at the Town Hall Monument

Belleville Man Sentenced to Six Months for Bribe-Taking
A Belleville man was sentenced Thursday to six months in custody for taking a bribe while he worked for a Jersey City labor union, the US Attorney’s Office announced. James Kearney Sr., 76, was the business manager of Local 45 of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Ironworkers on Aug. 1, 2011, when he met with a cooperating witness who worked for a construction company.

Main Break Affects Portion of Washington Ave

Officials in Belleville are trying to determine why the township has experienced an unusually high  number of water main breaks in the last two weeks.  Since the start of the month, there have been ruptures at Adelaide, Parkview, and at Franklin and Joralemon. There was yet another one Thursday, at 508 Washington Ave.,
