Nutley families are invited to take a look into a world of pure imagination this weekend.

announced that on Friday there will be a Drive-in Movie Night in Municipal Parking Lot 1 with an outdoor screening of the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder.

“We want to welcome families back from the summer with a nostalgic event,” said Nutley Public Works Commissioner Dr. Joseph Scarpelli. “Most parents with young children have never been to a drive-in, so we decided to show a movie that they may remember from their youth."

The movie night is sponsored by Spencer Savings and the Holy Family Knights of Columbus.  Admission is $15 per car and will be limited to the first 100 cars, reservations required.

Call the Department of Public Works at (973) 284-4959 to reserve your ticket.

“Our sponsors epitomize the volunteer and community spirit we have in this great town,” said Scarpelli.  “I would like to thank Spencer Savings Branch Manager, Rula Abualhuda and the Knights of Columbus for their support of this event.”

The parking lot will open at 6:30 p.m. and the movie will begin at dark.  In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be postponed until Thursday, Sept. 12.

“Tickets are limited to the first 100 cars, call today or stop in the 2nd floor of Town Hall to reserve your ticket,” Scarpelli said.
