Roche Will Chose One of Three Options for Route 3 Campus

Campus will close by the end of 2013 and the 127-acre site will be vacated by 2015.

Roche is closing operations at their location on the Nutley Clifton border this year, and has found space for a satellite corporate-support office close by in North Jersey, company spokeswoman Darien Wilson reportedly said Monday. According to the report, Roche will keep 50 employees, including lawyers, at that new office site.

Nutley officials selected master plan architect EE&K, a Perkins Eastman Co., to envision the future of the huge Nutley/Clifton campus in April.

Roche officials told the Nutley commission last June that the campus will close by the end of 2013 and the 127-acre site will be vacated by 2015.

The Record noted there a variety of suggestions have been made public, including transforming the campus into a conference center, hotel and science park and that some real estate officials predict the site will end up as a mixed-used development.
