Spencer Savings Bank Marks Its 75th Year with $7,500 Donation to Community Hope

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ (June 19, 2014) – Spencer Savings Bank, a community bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, has made a $7,500 donation to New Jersey based non-profit Community Hope. The gift was made in honor of the bank’s 75th anniversary, and reflects its deep commitment to supporting charitable organizations in the region. The donation was presented to the organization during the bank’s 75th anniversary celebration, which took place on June 18.

 

Since its founding in Parsippany in 1985, Community Hope has pursued its mission of "creating a brighter future" for veterans and their families struggling with mental illness, addiction, homelessness and poverty. Offering both housing and support services, it is the largest non-profit in the state focused on serving homeless veterans and their families. On hand from Community Hope to accept the award were Eileen Griffith, President and Co-Founder; J. Michael Armstrong, M.A., M.B.A., CEO; Marilyn Lukach, VP; and Julia Bey Ahmet, VP of Development.
