When we asked readers to vote for their idea of a perfect staycation, the luxurious Hilton Short Hills Hotel won by a landslide. Caldwells readers also said it's one of their favorite places to go.
With its glamorous rooms, stylish spa and extensive dining options, it is no surprise that the Hilton took the honors. The fact that it is located practically in SOMA's backyard, not to mention across the street from the Mall at Short Hills, is just icing on the cake.
Montclair's results were a tie between two destinations— there is Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. Tied for second place: Eagle Rock Reservation and the The Woodhouse Day Spa, located at 56 South Park Street in Montclair, offers more than 70 different services. Readers from Livingston, Belleville-Nutley, Millburn and Caldwell also love the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange and Nutley readers said they enjoy the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair. The venue has undergone a $3 million renovation the theatre now hosts regularly scheduled live entertainment events from world renowned performers.
Verona and West Orange readers also love a good game. They said they like to attend minor league baseball at the New Jersey Jackals Stadium on the campus of Montclair State University.
