Nutley Holiday Celebration is Dec. 7

Event being held in conjunction with 'Season of Hope" charity event

Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci and the Department of Parks and Recreation invite residents to join them in conjunction with the American Cancer Society in celebrating the start of the holidays and “a Season of Hope.”

This Holiday Celebration has been scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7 at the Parks and Recreation Department located at 44 Park Ave.  The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will include holiday music, treats, hot chocolate, cookies and more.  Pony rides will also be available for children to enjoy around Glotzbach Field.   All proceeds from Photos with Santa will go directly to Relay for Life of Nutley.

“The Kick Off is a great way to rally together and create an excitement within the community about this event,” stated Tucci.

Make a positive impact in the lives of others and join us in celebrating the ability to find cures and give others hope.  All are welcome to join us, obligation free and learn more about this event.

“Here at the Parks and Recreation Department we come in contact with thousands of children each week.  The inspiring faces of these children brought us to the decision to sponsor our First Annual ‘Season of Hope’ toy drive.

“Our goal this holiday season is to spread joy through the halls of the children’s oncology unit and give hope to a child currently battling cancer,” stated Tucci.  “We will be collecting toys from Dec. 1 through Dec. 15. .  Baby and teen gifts are most needed.  These gifts will then be distributed through the American Cancer Society in conjunction with Nutley’s Relay for Life Event to children in need.”

For further information on this event or to become a part of our 7th Annual Relay for Life, please contact the Department of Parks and Recreation at 973-284-4966.
