Video: Boat Slowly Pulled From Passaic River

Construction equipment slowly pulls boat out of water.

On Saturday, Feb. 16, workers braved the cold to drag a capsized boat out of the Passaic River. This video shows how laborious it was to move the small vessel from the water.

The boat, a 1968 31 foot former U.S. Coast Guard vessel, was abandoned under the Rutgers Street Bridge in Belleville just prior to Hurricane Irene. The Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission removed it as part of their efforts to clear waterways in the wake of Sandy.
