Belleville Violinist featured at next Society of Musical Arts Concert

Society of Musical Arts presents a free orchestral
concert "Invitation to Dance" at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 550
Ridgewood Road, Maplewood.  World
premiere of "Montuno," by Puerto Rican composer Roberto Sierra, and
other orchestra music by Saint-Saens, Sibelius, Strauss, Grieg, and
Kodaly.  This concert is made possible in
part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.


Also featured in this concert will be Young Artist
Competition winner Kriscendra Jones, of Belleville, NJ.  Ms. Jones will play the violin solo in Danse
Macabre. Ms. Jones currently studies violin under Brennan Sweet of the
NJSO, as well as attending Kean University's Conservatory of Music as a music
education major with an emphasis in violin and minor in piano.  She has been featured violinist with the
Newark Young Writers Arts Festival at NJPAC and NJSO's Greater Newark Youth
Orchestra, and currently plays with theSummit Symphony Orchestra in Summit,
NJ.
