Christmas Mailing Deadlines Loom in North Jersey

There's still a little time to get packages delivered before Christmas.

We can’t all rely on Santa to get our gifts to where they need to be by Christmas morning, but we can rely on the U.S. Postal Service.

The USPS Northern New Jersey District officials want to remind residents and business people that they’ve still got time to mail those holiday gifts and greeting to have them delivered by Christmas. The following mail-by dates are recommended to ensure holiday gifts and greetings arrive on time:

  • Dec. 20 for First-Class Mail
  • Dec. 21 for Priority Mail
  • Dec. 23 for Priority Mail Express

The USPS expects to deliver 13.1 billion cards, letters and packages this holiday season. With that kind of volume in mind, the U.S. Postal Service has some tips to help get gifts to their destination swiftly and safely. Northern NJ postal officials emphasize that proper addressing and proper packaging help give every holiday gift the best possible service.
