Nutley Kids Invited to Learn Healthy Habits in Bernie's Club

St. Bernard mascot looks to make healthy habits fun.

Nutley kids are invited to come out and meet Bernie on Saturday.

Bernie, a friendly St. Bernard, will be showing Nutley kids a fun way to learn healthy habits.

At the monthly meetings of Bernie’s Club, Nutley health Department employees and Bernie will explore health topics in engaging, interactive ways.

The kids will be motivated to put their learning to work with by earning points that can be “cashed” in for prizes.

Bernie’s club kicks off Saturday with a celebration of fun and games at the Nutley Department of Public Affairs from 10 a.m. to noon.

Children from first to fifth grade can meet Bernie, take a picture with him, and join his free Saturday morning club.

Bernie will make an appearance at club meetings for special events as appropriate. In addition to Bernie, special speakers will make presentations in accordance with the related Bernie’s Club Unit Objectives.

Commissioner Rogers urges parents to take advantage of this opportunity and bring their cameras and join us with their children on Jan 11 at which time they will be given detailed information on our program as well as the opportunity to meet Bernie and take a picture with him.
