Dorothy H. Caruso, Legal Secretary, Mother and Grandmother, Dies at 92

Dorothy (Heydon) Caruso,  of Nutley, passed away on Friday January 10, 2014, Born in Jersey City she was a resident of Nutley for most of her life.

She was a former member of the St. Thomas Rosary Society, and a former member of the Nutley Women’s Club.

Mrs. Caruso was a graduate of Nutley High School.  After graduation she was employed at Western Electric, Kearny as a secretary.  It was there that she met her husband, Thomas who predeceased her by four days.  After raising her family she was employed as a secretary in the law office of Anthony Drollas, Nutley.

She is predeceased by her husband Thomas Caruso, and her sister, Eleanor Hagen. She is survived by her children, Thomas & his wife, Shannon, Gary & his wife, Barbara, Dennis & his wife, Teresa, and Kevin; a her sister, Jeanne Cullinen; six grandchildren, Thomas IV, Travis J, Elizabeth, Jack, Nick, and Katie Caruso, and one great granddaughter, Isa-Heydon Sy Caruso.

The funeral will be from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, on Monday at 9a.m.

There will be a funeral Mass celebrated for Dorothy and Thomas Caruso at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Bloomfield

The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-6pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 60 Byrd Avenue Bloomfield, N.J 07003.
