Belleville Police Arrest Man in Connection With Gas Station Robbery

Belleville police have made an arrest in connection with the Nov. 27 armed robbery of a Delta gas station on Union Ave., the Belleville Times reports.

A man in a dark hooded sweatshirt reportedly walked into the gas station and asked for a Dutch brand cigar before allegedly pulled out a handgun, saying "give me your s**t." Police said the gunman took between $300 and $500 in cash before running towards Newark.

Jose Echevarria, 31, of Belleville was arrested Wednesday night in Newark, taken into custody and was charged with armed robbery and possession of a handgun following a motor vehicle stop, according to a Belleville Times report.
