Belleville Woman, 86, Killed in North Bergen Accident
SUV struck four cars before slamming into the back of a tractor trailer, report said.
An 86-year-old Belleville woman died Wednesday when the SUV her husband hit four cars before slamming into the back of a tractor trailer in North Bergen.
Olivia Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene on a North Bergen ramp leading to Route 495, according to NJ.com. Her husband, Hugo Lopez, told police the SUV accelerated suddenly and he was unable to stop it, according to the report.
Hugo Lopez and the couple's daughter, Juana Lopez, who was a back-seat passenger, were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
No charges have been filed.
