Burglaries Reported at Several Belleville Homes

Several thousand dollars' worth of property taken at one address

At least five Belleville homes were burglarized in the past week, including one residence where $15,000 in items was reported taken.

The burglaries all occurred when the homes were unoccupied, Belleville police said. 

Two homes were hit Oct. 6. Jewelry was taken from  a home on Grove Street, while $3,000 in various items were reported stolen from a Franklin Avenue residence.

Two more homes -- another on Franklin Avenue and on Branch Brook Drive -- were burglarized Oct. 11. Electronic equipment, including video games and a computer, as well as paperwork, were reported stolen from the Branch Brook Drive home. Approximately $15,000 in merchandise was taken from the Franklin Avenue address.

Itemized lists of the stolen items were not immediately available.

The day before, on Oct. 10, $650 was also reported stolen from a Wallace Street home.
