Family Looking for Answers in Hackensack Man's Murder

Man was shot while driving a client from Belleville to Hackensack on Route 80, report says.

A Bergen County family is looking for answers in the murder of a Hackensack man that they say doesn't make sense.

According to an nj.com report, Jeff Mansilla was fatally shot while driving on Route 80 in Saddle Brook on June 12

Mansilla, 39, had recently started his own limo company, the reportsaid. On the night of the shooting, he was driving a client from the Wet Gentleman's Club in Belleville to Hackensack when gunshots were fired into his car, the report said.

Mansilla was able to pull over and switch seats with an unidentified passenger who drove him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the report said.

Family members say he was happy - his business was starting to succeed and he recently proposed to his girlfriend, the report said. They believe he was not the shooter's target, it said.

But the family, who says it has been kept in the dark about many uncertainties surrounding the case, is hoping for justice, the report said.

"I hope justice is served, and I hope that this man doesn’t have the privilege of walking this Earth freely. He doesn’t belong here — he belongs in jail," Mansilla's brother James told nj.com of finding the shooter.
