Man Hid Drugs in Lint Remover, Belleville Cops Say

Newark man accused of drug possession during a traffic stop.

A Newark man was arrested after a lint remover containing marijuana and Percocet pills fell out of his pants when he stepped out of his car, police said. 

Police said officers stopped Willy Moore, 33, for having an unreadable license plate at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, June 22. During the stop, police said Moore quickly reached for the waistband on his pants.

When officers requested Moore’s license and registration, Moore said he didn’t have a license, according to the report. When he was ordered to get out of the car, a lint remover on his lap dropped to the ground, revealing a small plastic baggie filled with marijuana and 59 yellow Percocet tablets, police said.

Police charged Moore with possession of a controlled deadly substance, possession of a controlled deadly substance within 500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled deadly substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and having an unreadable license plate.

 His bail was set at $30,000.
