Nutley Man Arrested for Burglary, Cops Say

Man was reportedly hospitalized due to injuries sustained during burglary.

Nutley police arrested a township resident in connection with a burglary on Centre Street.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, a Centre Street resident told police that their home had been broken into. Police say the home’s bedroom window screen had been pushed in and that $5,000 worth of items from a curio cabinet in the living room was missing.

Police say detectives investigating the home found evidence and information regarding the case, indicating that Rojello Rolon, 51, of Nutley, was responsible.

Rolon was charged with burglary third degree, theft third degree, criminal mischief and drug paraphernalia. Rolon was released own recognizance and admitted into the hospital with a fractured knee and right ankle that were reportedly sustained as a result of the burglary.

Rolon was also found to have an active warrant out of Clifton. Clifton Police were contacted and they released Rojello on his own recognizance with a new court date.
