Nutley Man Robbed of Laptops in Craigslist Deal Gone Bad

Two men allegedly forked over $134 for computers worth $2,000.

Nutley police said a man tried to sell two laptops on Craigslist but was ripped off by the erstwhile buyers who answered his ad.

A Nutley resident told police on Sunday, Jan. 19 he had listed two Mac Books for sale on Craiglist. Two black men, described as between 25 and 30, responded to the ad. One was described as heavyset, bald and bearded and other as having dread locks.

The victim told police the men handled him $134 in cash and drove off with the Mac Books in their vehicle.

The information was broadcasted to nearby towns and the computer serial numbers were entered as stolen. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
