Nutley: Woman Spots Car Hours After it was Stolen

Victim originally thought vehicle had been towed, police said

On Jan. 24 a woman whose car had just been stolen spotted the vehicle shortly afterwards being driven by someone else, Nutley police said.

The woman told police that she and a friend had left the vehicle parked around 7 pm on Stager Street between Ravine and Franklin avenues. When they returned about two hours later the car, an Acura Integra, which has been locked, was missing.

Thinking the car had been towed, the victim and her friend drove to police headquarters. While driving, the two spotted the car parked on Ravine Avenue with a man behind the wheel. The two made eye contact with the man before he sped south towards Harrison Street, police said. The victim and her friend were unsure which way the car turned onto Harrison.

The driver is described as a white male with an olive complexion and brown eyes in his mid to late 40s. He was wearing a thick gray jacket and a dark skull cap.
