Injured Tree Worker Brought to Hospital

Belleville police, fire and ambulances responded to an accident reported at the intersection of Continental and Franklin Aves. near a Bank of America location in Belleville. 

Reports on emergency communications indicated that a worker in a tree had had sustained injuries. Police say the  was being taken down by the workers when a branch snapped causing the worker to fall. The worker was taken to University Hospital. His condition is not known. 

Cars were backed up on Franklin as police directing traffic away from the scene. At approximately 3:30 p.m., an ambulance and a fire truck sped from the scene. By 4 p.m., cars were moving regularly onFranklin Ave while tree workers cleared debris from the area.
