Three Arrested in Connection with Belleville Robbery

Suspects allegedly tried to strike officers

Two men and a youth were arrested in connection with an armed robbery Jan. 24, Belleville police said.

At 2:47 pm, police responded to a Passaic Avenue on a report of a strong arm robbery. As officers arrived they spotted two 18-year-old Belleville men, Kamal Miller and Hamad Broadway, as well as a third teenaged suspect, and stopped them. Miller and Broadway were arrested after they tried to punch the officers, a department spokesman said.

Miller and Broadway were charged with resisting arrest, aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. The youth was charged with robbery and later released to his parents’ custody.

Earlier the three had approached a man and forced him to hand over his iPhone, police said.
