Burglary Attempts Reported in Silver Lake

Police in Belleville were investigating several burglary attempts reported in the Silver Lake neighborhood near Clara Maass Medical Center last week.

On Dec. 5, residents of apartments on Heckel and Frederick streets told police someone had opened windows at each of the addresses. Nothing was reported taken and police believe no one had actually entered the homes.

On the same day, another Heckel Street resident told police a window was also found open at that address and a Dell laptop computer worth $300 was missing.
