Essex Mayors, Congressman Scheduled to Attend Annual Breakfast

Area Chambers of Commerce and League of Women Voters of Montclair Area to hold fourth annual 'Meet the Mayors' Breakfast on March 22.

Six local Chambers of Commerce, including Millburn-Short Hills, North Essex, West Orange, Maplewood, South Orange, and Livingston, are joining the League of Women Voters of the Montclair Area as hosts of the annual “Meet the Mayors” Breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, at Crane’s Mill, 459 Passaic Ave., West Caldwell. The snow date is March 29th.

Mayors from all 22 communities within Essex County as well as Little Falls and Clifton have been invited to attend. Guests will have the opportunity to network with local officials and Chamber members.

“We are honored to have U.S. Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen of the 11th District as our keynote speaker and look forward to his comments on the impact being felt in New Jersey and on a national level of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act a/k/a Obamacare,” said Government Affairs Committee Chair Denny Klein of Rand, Feuer & Klein.

Congressman Frelinghuysen represents 54 municipalities, including communities in Morris, Sussex, Passaic and Essex Counties. He is serving his tenth term in Congress.

Lou LaSalle, Senior Vice President, External Affairs at Barnabas Health added, “It is very encouraging to see the communities of Essex County join forces as the voice of business and work with local mayors and industry leaders to understand the changing face of healthcare.”

North Essex Chamber of Commerce Board Member Anthony Rainone, Esq. of Brach Eichler LLC, is encouraging area residents, business owners and Chamber members to join in these important and timely discussions. “This forum will offer all attendees the opportunity to learn about the current and future regulations that are changing as part of the Affordable Care Act.”

William Edge of the League of Women Voters of the Montclair Area, which has members in most of the participating towns, states: “We are excited to be participating again this year in this important forum.
