Local Justice: Decisions in Belleville Municipal Court

The Municipal Court handled these four criminal cases.

In State v. Mustopolis Alexander, of Newark, the State charged defendant with hindering apprehension by providing false information to a police officer on May 1st.  Defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.  The Court sentenced defendant to 10 days in jail and imposed fees and costs totaling $257.

In State v. John Alcantara, of Newark, the State charged defendant with disorderly conduct on April 12th.  Defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.  The Court imposed fees and costs totaling $357.

In State v. Michael Justice, of Clifton, the State charged defendant with possession of marijuana on January 12th.  Defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.  The Court sentenced defendant to 2 years of probation, suspended defendant's driver’s license for 6 months, and imposed fees and costs.

In State v. Anthony Hernandez, of Belleville, the State charged defendant  with possession of drug paraphernalia on April 18th.  Defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.  The Court sentenced defendant to 1 year of probation, and imposed fees and costs.
