Free Nutley Concert This Week

Classic rock scheduled at Memorial Park.

Music fans are invited to Memorial Park this Wednesday for a free family-friendly concert featuring The Infernos.

Food concessions will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather the concert will be relocated indoors to the Parks and Recreation Department located at 44 Park Ave, said Mario Tucci, director of parks and recreation.

"(The Infernos) concert will include a little bit of everything from classic to popular, entertaining residents of all ages" stated Tucci.

At a June commissioners meeting, Tucci said, "The Recreation Department plans a lot for residents this summer, and we are always looking for new ways to bring better services to all of our residents, especially family events."

The second concert will showcase "The Cameos" featuring John Basilone of Nutley, on Aug. 1. Oldies and doo-wop groups have become a tradition in Nutley’s concert series and Tucci said  this group will bring fans back to the feeling of the 1950s.

The rain date for this concert is Aug. 15.

Tucci said people are free to bring a lawn chair or a blanket. For more information, contact the Recreation Department at 973-284-4966, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
