Nutley Will Observe 9/11 Anniversary
Mayor Alphonse Petracco and the Board of Commissioners ask residents to join in another remembrance of those lost on 911, including the three Nutley residents killed 11 years ago.
Mayor Alphonse Petracco said Nutley will hold a remembrance ceremony for victims of 9/11 on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at 10 a.m.
The ceremony will be held at the 911 monument site located in front of the Nutley Township Hall on Chestnut Street.
"It is my wish that we will always unite to remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001 and that displays of this type will forever serve as reminder of our the tragic loss that our country suffered that day," Petracco said.

Residents are invited to join town officials, victim’s families, friends and clergy in remembering those who perished that day, Petracco said.
Among those lost were three Nutley residents: Lt. Robert Cirri, Frank LaLama, and Dorota Kopiscko.

Also, residents are asked to display a lit candle on their front porches or in their windows from 8 to 10 p.m. to honor those who died. The same tradition has been observed in pervious years.
Residents are encouraged to display an American flag in front of their homes to show united support against the war on terrorism as in previous, Petracco said.

St. Paul's Congregational Church at 10 Saints Pauls Place; Holy Family Church at 28 Brookline Ave; the church that lost parishioners Cirri and Lalama, and the Franklin Reformed Church at 45 Hillside Crescent; will have special services this Sunday.
