Nutley Voters Turn Out for Booker, Lonegan

Special primary election for Lautenberg's Senate seat sees strong local support for Newark Mayor and Republican candidate Steven Lonegan.

More Nutley voters turned to support Cory Booker in the special primary election than any other candidate but Steve Lonegan received strong support as well, according to unofficial results provided by the Nutley Municipal Clerk Evelyn Rosario.

Newark Mayor and Democrat Booker received 467 Nutley votes and Republican former Bogota Mayor Lonegan drew 308.

The election was held to find a full-term replacement for the U.S. Senate seat formerly held by Nutley native Frank Lautenberg, who died in June.
