Officials from Nutley, Clifton, to Hear Future Plans for Roche Site

Updated plans to be presented in November meeting, according to published reports.

Representatives of Roche and Clifton and Nutley officials will discuss a new set of plans for the redevelopment of the 119-acre Route 3 campus the pharmaceutical maker is scheduled to close by Jan 1.

While the Joint Repurposing Committee (JRC) has not finalized an agreement, Roche has revamped a three new proposals that will likely be presented to the Nutley and Clifton representatives during its November meeting, the Clifton Journal reported.

Roche originally presented three proposals to the committee in August, including plans to use the site into a conference center, hotel complex, science park, a residential property or a mixed-use site. The Journal reported that a mixed use plan would require a variance from one or both of the municipalities' zoning boards and could cost Roche millions on planning if its application is denied.
