Police to Protest Promotion Decisions Tuesday

Belleville's council will also meet Tuesday and Nutley Chamber of Commerce hosts membership luncheon this week.

Nutley’s police union, PBA Local No. 33, is planning a rally outside of the Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday night. The rally is in response to disagreements over promotion decisions by Nutley Mayor Alphonse Petracco who, as mayor, is the director of the Department of Public Safety.

Belleville’s municipal council also meets on Tuesday.

At noon on Thursday, the Nutley Chamber of Commerce hosts a General Membership Luncheon with a special presentation from Jim Kirkos, the President and CEO of the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce, concerning how township businesses can benefit from the upcoming Super Bowl XLVIII in New Jersey. The luncheon/presentation will be held at the Franklin Steakhouse.
