Belleville High Future Business Leaders Find Success at State Conference

Competitors from Belleville High School took home six awards and are eligible to compete in nationals in Tennessee later this year.

Young, prospective business leaders from Belleville High School came away with six awards after participating in some rigorous business-oriented competition.

Belleville's Future Business Leaders of America recently participated in the New Jersey’s 2014 State Leadership Conference at the Hilton Hotel of East Brunswick.

Of the 15 students who participated in the event, Emily Ramos won the "Who's Who in FBLA" award alongside Avie Hinahon, who received the "Gold Officer Award."

Fiorella Rios and Hinahon placed fifth in the state for desktop publishing, and  Joseph Murante and Paolo Hinahon placed third for Public Speaking 1 and Word Processing, respectively.

The Belleville FBLA placed in the top three in its competitions, making the team eligible to compete in the nationals taking place in Nashville, Tennessee.

"Mrs. (Meryl) Metsopulus and I are extremely proud of all of the students’ efforts. We had much success and feel that all of the students are better prepared for college and work experiences due to this conference," said FBLA adviser Corey Woodring.
