Essex County College Open House is Feb. 27

Prospective students invited to learn more.

Essex County College will host an open house for prospective students on Thursday, Feb. 27, 4 to 7 p.m. on its main campus at 303 University Ave. in Newark.

Prospective students who attend the open house will have their $25 application fee waived. If qualified, they will receive instant admission and express registration services. Transfer students will receive credits-earned evaluation. Information on financial aid, transfer options, credit and non-credit programs will also be available.

Summer I term classes begin on May 5, and Summer II starts July 14. Classes for the Fall 2014 semester start Sept. 2.

Essex County College offers a wide range of associate degree programs in the arts (A.A.), sciences (A. S.) and applied sciences (A.A.S.), academic certificate programs, and certificates of completion. 

The 48 associate degree major areas of study include biology, business, computer science, criminal justice, engineering, humanities, natural science, nursing, and social sciences. ECC also offers English as a Second Language and adult literacy classes, customized job training, and numerous programs for professional development and personal enrichment. In addition, ECC has a multitude of support services, cooperative education internships, career planning, and a child care center.
