Nutley High School Named in the Top 1,000

Nutley High part of a national ranking done by Newsweek and the Daily Beast.

Nutley High School was recently ranked 958 out of 1,000 as part of Newsweek and the Daily Beast’s annual high school rankings.
According to the Daily Beast, the schools were ranked based on six main components: graduation rate, college matriculation rate, AP/IB/ AICE tests taken per student, average SAT/ACT scores, average AP/IB/AICE scores and AP courses per student.
Nutley High School received a Newsweek score of 0.15 with 89% of graduating students attending college and an average of 3.8 for AP scores.
“The criteria for ranking in this survey are in sync with an overall goal of the Nutley Schools,”  Mayor Alphonse Petracco said. Upon hearing of the selection, Petracco immediately credited the Superintendent, Board of Education, administration, and teachers for always seeking ways to improve the Nutley School System.
“We are very happy to receive this honor, and we see these types of rankings as an important indication of the success of our school district,” said Mayor Petracco.
Since the start of the rankings over a decade ago, the national graduation rate has increased by four percent with AP scores more than doubled. Nutley students will celebrate their graduation on Friday.
