Nutley Schools Cancel Activities This Weekend, SATs Being Rescheduled

Statement from the Superintendent of Schools

Please note that all school activities have been canceled until Monday, November 5. This means that there will be no activity over the weekend.

We are waiting to hear from ETS regarding the rescheduling of this weekend’s SAT administration. As of now, not all schools have power, and conditions in the town make travel dangerous for people in Nutley and difficult if not impossible for our staff that has to come from outside of the township.

I continue to work with the Township, the Mayor, and OEM to ensure everyone’s safety. They have asked me to convey to you that if at all possible, please stay inside. Now that schools are closed through the week, if you are without power and can join relatives or friends who have power and heat, you are encouraged to do so.

For information, please see http://nutleyschools.org/, follow us on Twitter @NutleySuper. As well, please see NutleyNJ.org for important updates on safety issues including Halloween. Decisions about the school calendar will be made once school is back in session and the Department of Education and the Office of the Governor have made decisions and shared information with the district. Until then, please stay safe.

Russell M. Lazovick, Superintendent of Schools, Nutley Public Schools
