Three Belleville High School Students Honored At Academic Banquet

The three honorees all plan to attend Rutgers Univeristy with a major in health and sciences in the fall.

The similarities came in threes: Three women, same high school, same future university, similar career paths.

Stunning coincidences aside, the 27th Annual Academic Awards Banquet, which highlights the best and brightest students in public schools throughout Essex County, awarded three teens for their achievements at Nanina’s in the Park last Tuesday.

Avie Hinahon, Fiorella Rios, and Danyang Zhou are all seniors at Belleville High School, a rare occurrence for the event. Rios and Hinahon also have the same GPA and are to be co-salutatorians at graduation.

All three honorees are going to attend Rutgers in the fall with majors directly related to health and science.

”I am so proud of the three honorees. They are role models to all of our wonderful Belleville students on how to work hard to reach incredible goals," said  Belleville Public School’s Superintendent of Schools Helene Feldman. "The honorees are an inspiration to us all. I know they, like many other Belleville students, will go on to do incredible things with their lives and make the world a better place."
