Belleville Weekly Sports Wrap

Gravenhise leads football team past Newark East Side; Medina stars for girls soccer; Bonos lead girls cross country at Essex County Championships.

The Buccaneer football team took a step back towards the .500 mark on Friday night, defeating Newark East Side, 18-13. The win gets Belleville to 3-4. Travon Gravenhise threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Aaquil Ingram hauled in 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Girls Soccer

Belleville picked up its fifth win of the season this week, in 3-0 shutout over Golda Och. Tiffany Medina scored twice for Belleville in the win.

Girls Cross Country

Senior Kristy Bono led the Buccaneers to a fifth place finish at the Essex County Championship meet at Brookdale Park this weekend. Bono placed 12th, coming in at 19:40.7. Jamie Bono was 22nd.
