Nutley High Collecting Funds for Christina Lembo

In game against Bloomfield Saturday, admission will be waived

Those planning to attend the matchup between Nutley and Bloomfield Saturday in Nutley won't be asked to pay admission to watch the gridiron contest.

Instead, they’ll be asked to make a donation to the family of a young woman whose death earlier this month shook communities throughout the area, NJ.com reported.

Christina Lembo, 16, was killed in a car accident in which another youth was also injured. Hundreds attended a funeral as well as a candlelight vigil for the varsity soccer player, while Belleville High School students have worn her number, 3, in her honor in the past few weeks. Clifton High School also honored Lembo’s memory with a moment of silence before a recent game against Bloomfield.

The funds raised Saturday will be shared with the family of the young man hurt in the same accident.
