Cooling Centers Open in Belleville and Nutley

Due to this week's extreme heat, Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura, Coordinator of the Essex County Office of Emergency Management, announced this week that cooling centers are open throughout the county, including locations in Nutley and Belleville. 

Belleville's Senior Citizens Center on Franklin Ave at Mill Street will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Nutley Public Library on Booth Drive  will be available as a cooling center on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
